We currently have a dual-tuner DishNet DVR connected to both a cable outlet and a phone line in one room, and another television connected to a cable outlet in a second room. I would like to transfer one of the connections to a room that doesn't have a cable outlet or a telephone jack. I called DishNet tech support today and she told me all I needed to do was buy a wireless telephone jack for the other room. If this is correct, then why are both rooms currently connected to the cable outlets? Do I just move the DVR to the new room and hook it up to a wireless phone jack? If I understand you correctly, you are trying to move one connection to another room. Right? And it does not have to be the first installation which has the cable and phone jacks. Right?
The Dish DVR that is connected to the cable and the phone should not be moved. That particular unit (installation) is essentially fed by the wire that comes from the satellite dish, and in all probability, you will not have extra wire to move that unit around.
Now the 2nd television is hooked directly to a cable outlet. That cable is connected back the first installation (the one with the cable and phone jacks). You can easily move this television to another location, and route the wire to the new location.
The best option would be for you to do a "1-to-2 split" the cable connection at the 2nd television. You can easily buy a splitter at Home Depot type stores.
