You are an early pioneer in the land of the ridiculous,
and you are probably wasting your time.
Landline phone "power" is unlikely to be usable; there isn't much current available,
and if you place even a seemingly modest load on the line, it will result
in an off-hook condition, which would further interfere with your pursuits.
How would you block ringing voltage from getting into and damaging
your experimental circuitry? Do you have any idea? Hmm?
I know that it would require some accurate data and careful calculations,
then winding some custom coils, and you would need a few other parts.
Look into how wired telephone systems work before you go messing about
any further, and let me warn you from personal experience
about the shock you could get from ringing voltage: IT HURTS!

The news that Nokia just handed over its one and a half _billionth_ Series 40
phone was interesting - and impressive - and got me thinking and fact-
checking. Just how many Symbian-powered smartphones have been sold, in total,
i.e. in the last decade? Turns out it's now well over 500 million, i.e. over
_half a billion Symbian smartphones_ have already been sold and are... out
