Hydrogen Energy For Cars - New Power Source For Vehicles
As gas prices continue to rise to unprecedented levels people are scratching their heads looking for an alternative to traditional fossil fuels to power their vehicles. Indeed, highly funded organizations like the energy commission are looking into possibilities, as are the average person in the street that look at hydrogen conversion kits for autos to install in their cars.
Hydrogen fuel cells look certain to provide a credible alternative to gasoline as a vehicle's fuel source in the near future. Hydrogen for cars will not only provide the chance to explore new energy sources; it will also open up better potential for us to improve how we travel overall.
Some of the advantages of using hydrogen gas to power a vehicle are as follows. Hydrogen is plentiful. It can be found in most things including water to the compost heap in your backyard. Therefore, it has great potential and is gaining plenty of interest.
Another advantage is that hydrogen fuel for cars is far more efficient and cleaner to produce than fossil fuel. For instance, to produce gasoline, a refinery would process three hundred billion gallons of water, which is itself becoming a more and more valuable and depleted resource. The same amount of hydrogen would require only one million gallons of water, a saving too large to ignore.
Hydrogen gas would be cheaper to procude and offer potentially two thirds more in terms of efficiency. Hydrogen fuel also decreases engine operating temperatures, all but eliminating emissions as well as the unwanted carbon footprint.
The main stumbling block to producing hydrogen fueled vehicles on a mass scale is the lack of available hydrogen fuel. Or rather the infrastructure to deliver hydrogen fuel. The near future might see people using a home hydrogen refueling sation to replenish their car but as of this moment this scenario is out of reach of most people.
If cars were to run exclusively on electricity produced via an inline hydrogen fuel cell, we would see expanding horizons in terms of car design. Car design would be freed up to some extent as the need to control a large combustion engine and the problems that go with it would be reduced.
For example, the engine needed to move the car could be smaller. Some such limitations involve having to account for a heat-producing engine, as well as bulky floorboard configurations which are required for drive line equipment currently.
As many government and corporations in the pertroleum and car industries start to think about hydrogen as a serious alternative to gasoline, the look of vehicles will change dramatically. Hydrogen will become more readily available and hydrogen-fueling stations will begin to pop up (or will be added to existing service stations).
Clean, cost effective fuel for our cars that is not only great for the environment but great for our wallets too. As the increase in gas prices sees no end in sight, the advancement in developing hydrogen fueling cars and the infrastructure to support them will continue at an increasingly faster pace.

Next generation.?
Should there be a worry for this generation coming up right now?
As in for prices of food, fuel, interest rates, water everything.
And environment.
Yes there better be
.. . ..
The hand writing is on the wall in big black letters
.. . ..
We are using up all the crude oil we have and there is only so much and when it is gone it is gone for good
.. .. ..
And we think things are expensive today wait 3 years to see what things cost
.. . ..
And the job market will almost disapear because of it the cost of living and no one can afford to buy anything which puts 100's of thousand of people out of work weekly
.. . ..
Yes it sound like gloom and doom but the facts are there just look at them
.. . ..
The cost of oil is doubling every 18 months that means by this time next year crude oil will cost almost $220 a barrel
.. . ..
And the world wide depression will be unstoppable
When it hits this price and it will continue to rise in price
.. . ..
The next generation has to worry of world wide safety and will there be any jobs to have and will the governments still be solvent or gone
.. . ..
And in 40 years what will planet earth be like do you think
.. . ..
Like it was back in the 1700 yes 1700 cars that are rusting on the side of roadways
.. .. ..
City blocks of empty homes empty stores empty schools dark hospitals
.. . ...
And the smell of death is every ware mankind has reverted back to the prime instinct survival of the fittest
.. . ...
This will be in full force in 50 years

AN AMERICAN FAMILY: Three Decades with the McGarveys (National Geographic)
WASHINGTON (Oct. 1, 2009)--In 1977 photojournalist Pam Spaulding set out to
record the unscripted, everyday life of the McGarvey family of Louisville, Ky.
They had just had their first baby, and the project -- to document the lives
of new parents -- was supposed to last one year. Thirty years, two more
children and one wedding later, the project finally came to an end. The result
is the richest photographic record of a single family ever made. This unique,
revealing and engaging group portrait is showcased in a new book from National
Geographic, **AN AMERICAN FAMILY: Three Decades with the McGarveys** (National
Geographic Focal Point; Oct. 20, 2009; ISBN: 978-1-4262-0504-0; $35;
hardcover).
Whether you think of it as the ultimate in time-lapse photography or a reality
show begun decades before its time, this intimate, 30-year look at one middle-
class family is Americana at its most evocative. The remarkable collection of
images peers into every aspect of the McGarvey family's life to produce an
album that is instantly recognizable to anyone who has ever shared the
American experience.
From listening to a bedtime story to decorating the Christmas tree, from
playing a card game around the kitchen ...
