About Your Power Tool Batteries
Battery strengths are measured in mAh. You may see batteries with the same size but with different life span. For standard size batteries, you have the option to choose what type to use unless instructed in the user’s manual of the power tool product you purchased. The only reason you do not want to replace or change the type is when your power tool comes with internal charge of its own.
Battery chargers that you either get with your power tool or you purchase for keeping your cordless power tool charged can sometimes charge more then one type of battery. Yet you need to be sure that you only charge the approved types as doing other wise could great a dangerous situation.
Be responsible to recycle batteries. All batteries that are manufactured cause a harmful effect on our environment. It does not matter whether it is a standard or rechargeable kind of battery.
One of the rechargeable batteries rated high on the market is NiCad Batteries. Over the life span of the NiCad battery it will lose power but if charged incorrectly, power will be lost faster. NiCad batteries should be fully discharged before recharging it. People are not aware that charging a battery that is not fully discharged will deteriorate the holding capacity and shorten or lessen the power. There is no solution but to purchase a new one when this problem takes place. NiCad Batteries have low power level compared to standard batteries. It means that it should not be used for cameras or devices of the same kind.
The NiMH style of batteries has replaced the old style batteries. These new batteries are much better, they have more power, last longer and are much easier for the customer to use and maintain. The run time of the newer batteries has greatly improved taking away the frustration of turning on your power tool only to have it lose power after a few minutes of use.
Power tool batteries that are used on tools like a Bosch cordless Circular Saw can last long if maintained and used properly. Please read your users manual before operating and charging. Take a look at the voltage too make sure that you are plugging it in the right socket for the correct voltage. Most of the power tools nowadays have auto-voltage switching power. You can plug it in on either 110 or 220 depending on your home location.
