Telephone Headsets From GN Netcom And Plantronics
Telephone headsets, especially wireless ones, can be a essential productivity tool in an office. Users are able to have both hands free and can multi-task. They are also not tied to their desks and can move around as necessary without missing that all important call. There are many types of headset available but for use with a telephone many people prefer a single ear option which still allows them to hear what is going on around them whilst they are on the phone.
If you are looking for a telephone headset for office use you will almost certainly have looked at products from GN Netcom and Plantronics. These are the major manufacturers of products for this market and both have excellent models which makes it quite a task to make a choice.
It does not matter if you are looking for corded or cordless headset there are appropriate products available from both organisations. We therefore have made a decision to compare two of the most popular cordless headsets. - the Plantronics CS55 Wireless Headset and the GN Netcom GN9120.
Plantronics CS55 Wireless Phone Headset
- Works via 1.9Ghz frequency with DECT 6.0 wireless technology
- Up to three hundred feet roaming from the base station
- Noise canceling microphone filters out noise from surroundings
- Provides clear audio and secures calls using 64 bit digital encryption
- Easy to use controls requiring only one touch for each function
- Supports a maximum of ten hours talk time on one charge
- Recharges in three hours but will recharge 80% in half that
- Can be worn in a number of ways depending on the preference of the user
- To remotely answer and terminate calls the optional handset lifter is required.
GN Netcom GN9120 Wireless Telephone Headset - Flex Boom
- Uses the 2.4 Ghz frequency rather than the more common 900MHz
- Uses DSS protocol, originally developed for secure military communications
- Also has a roaming distance of up to 300 feet
- Talk time on a single charge is a maximum of eight hours.
- Recharge time is 1.5 hours
- Flex Boom noise filtering microphone (other options available)
- Features a facility for up to 4 headsets to join a call
- Optional handset lifter for remote answering and ending of calls.
It should be noted that these headsets are designed for use with office PBX phones and will not work with home phones. There is a separate version of the Plantronics model -the Plantronics CS55H- for use with home (analogue) phones.
Taking all the above into account it is difficult to choose between the above two models. But perhaps the Plantronics just wins because of its longer talk time. Having said that users are likely to be very happy with either option.
Can you use a 6.5ghz cordless phone with a 5.8 ghz answer machine?
no... since there is no such thing as a 6.5ghz cordless phone you would not be able to use it with anything...
